Countries like Australia, Brazil and Thailand have successfully promoted beach sports like volleyball, surfing, beach cricket, kiteboarding, etc. the steps the Government has taken to attract quality tourists and extend the tourist season to position Goa as a Beach Sports Tourist Destination by identifying beaches like Morjim, Arambol, Calangute, Colva, and others, creating the best infrastructure, and hosting National and International beach sports events”.

“Fear and anxiety in the minds of people of Goa due to poor condition of bridge connecting Tuem village of Mandrem Constituency and Aroba-Dhargal village of Pernem Constituency. This narrow and age old bridge also connects the villages of Mandrem Constituency to the National Highway. New and wide bridge needs to be constructed to avoid any accidents in future. NON PAYMENT OF SALARIES AT GOA ANTIBIOTIC, TUEM

Fear and anxiety in the minds of employees of Goa Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GAPL), Tuem, due to non-payment of their salaries for the last 2 1/2 month. Company giving reason of less orders received for non payment of Salaries. With Chaturthi fast approaching, this delay has caused deep financial distress. The employees are demanding that their dues like  EPF, LIC bank installments be cleared, salaries paid on time, and their charter of demands be addressed. I request the Government to immediately intervene, coordinate with the Centre, and provide relief to the affected employees.

SAFETY MEASURES TO BE TAKEN AT ROCK CAVE, QUERIM (KERI) PALIYEM

Fear and anxiety in the minds of people with respect to natural  rock cave  at Querim (Keri),Paliyem, which poses safety risks during high tides and rough sea. Though it is beautiful and emerging tourist spot, the tourist enter the cave without supervision, which increases the chance of accidents. Therefore I urge the Tourism department to take necessary safety precautions and preserve the Natural beauty of that area.

SALT PANS (MITACHO AGAR) ON THE VERGE OF EXTINCTION

The attention of the house is drawn to fast decrease in traditional salt farmers. The Mitacho Agar (salt pans) in Agarwaddo and other Parts of Goa, are on the verge of extinction due to rapid urbanisation, labour shortage, low returns, and damage to bunds and canals. This traditional industry, part of Goa’s heritage, is fast disappearing. I request the Government to provide financial aid, restore bunds, supply modern equipment at subsidised rates, and protect salt pans as heritage sites to secure the livelihood of salt farmers.

Sir,

  • As per the guidelines prescribe by the Ministry of Women and Child Development the Department has implementing mental wellness, psychological counselling and emotional well-being interventions for children and adolescents under Mission Vatsalya, a centrally sponsored scheme for child protection. Under the scheme Department provides counselling, psychological support and mental health interventions through the following mechanisms:
  • District Child Protection Units (DCPUs) and Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), which ensure counselling, psycho-social support for Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) and Children in Conflict with Law (CCL).
  • Child Care Institutions (CCIs) supported under Mission Vatsalya, where services of counsellors, social workers and trained staff are engaged to address emotional distress, behavioural issues and mental stress among children.
  • Child Helpline (1098), operational under Mission Vatsalya, which provides 24×7 telephonic counselling, emotional support, crisis intervention and referral services, including cases related to mental stress, self-harm and suicide risk.
b)

the details of counselling sessions, awareness programmes, helplines, School College-based interventions and community outreach initiatives conducted in the last three years, along with taluka- wise data;

 

  • The answer is as per Annexure ‘A’ 
c)

whether the Department is coordinating with the Education Department, Health Department, NGOs and mental health professionals for early identification, counselling and follow-up support for vulnerable youth with details thereof, and

 

  • Child Helpline (1098), staff under Mission Vatsalya, coordinates with schools to conduct awareness programmes on the range of services provided by the Helpline, including medical assistance, shelter, and emotional support. These sessions facilitate the early identification of vulnerable children and sensitise students about accessing support by disseminating the toll-free Child Helpline number (1098), which is available 24×7 for immediate assistance. 
d)

whether the Government proposes to strengthen and expand mental health and wellness programmes with time-bound targets, especially to reduce youth suicides and stress due to academic pressure, unemployment, addiction social factors and the roadmap for its implementation?

  • As Mission Vatsalya is a centrally designed and funded scheme, and hence within the framework, interventions under the Scheme are undertaken as per the needs of the situation.

b. the year-wise and museum-wise footfall in each Government-maintained museum from 2022 till date, separately indicating local visitors, domestic tourists, foreign tourists and students/educational institutions;
c. the category-wise entry fee structure applicable to each Government-maintained museum, including concessions, if any, for students, senior citizens and Goan residents;
d. whether the Government has coordinated with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Education to promote Government museums as heritage, educational, and tourism destinations; if so, the details thereof;
e. the specific steps taken or proposed to:-   
    (i)  Integrate Government museums into tourism circuits and official tourism promotions;
    (ii) Encourage school and college visits through structured educational programmes; and
    (iii) Increase overall footfall and public engagement, along with the results achieved so far?

Answer:

a. the total number of museums maintained and managed by the Government of Goa, along with their names and locations;

Answer: There is only one museum under the Directorate of Museums, i.e “Goa State Museum” presently functioning from the Old Secretariat building, Panaji, Goa. There are no records of other museums in the state of Goa with this Directorate.

b. the year-wise and museum-wise footfall in each Government-maintained museum from 2022 till date, separately indicating local visitors, domestic tourists, foreign tourists and students/educational institutions;

Answer: The year-wise data for the footfall in “Goa State Museum” under the Directorate of Museums from 2022 till date is enclosed in Annexure-I.

c. the category-wise entry fee structure applicable to each Government-maintained museum, including concessions, if any, for students, senior citizens and Goan residents;

Answer: The “Goa State Museum” does not charge any entry fee to any visitors.

d. whether the Government has coordinated with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Education to promote Government museums as heritage, educational, and tourism destinations; if so, the details thereof;

Answer: The Directorate of Museums has coordinated with the Department of Tourism by sharing monthly visitor data and Directorate has organized workshops for teachers and students of the Department of Education/Higher Education/Goa University.

e. the specific steps taken or proposed to:-   
    (i)  Integrate Government museums into tourism circuits and official tourism promotions;
    (ii) Encourage school and college visits through structured educational programmes; and
    (iii) Increase overall footfall and public engagement, along with the results achieved so far?

Answer: The Directorate has taken steps: (i) To promote tourism, the department is distributing bookmarks and booklets to visitors in the museum, providing official guides to the visitors, updating the website with more information about antiquities in the museum and also has a proposal for the construction of a new museum building at Old Goa. (ii) To encourage schools and colleges to visit the museum, the department had organized workshops for teachers and students, and department staff also gives visits in schools and colleges to give lectures on museums and heritage. (iii) The museum building at Old Secretariat, Panaji, Goa, has been taken up for restoration work by PWD, after restoration and setting of museum footfall will be increased.

Correction in LAQ 008A at :

(a) There is only one Museum under directorate of museum that is Goa State Museum presently functioning from Old Secretariat building.
