Acute Water shortage

Attention of the House is called as regards the residents of Numoxint area, due to the acute water shortage faced for the past one month, caused by the water leakage in the pipeline near Hotel Sheetal, St Inez. The pipeline is below the new concrete road executed under Smart City Works which    needs to be discontinued at the earliest by commencing the new pipeline network already laid in the area. The steps the Government will take to resolve this issue.”

for Water Resources to the following:                                                
“Fear and apprehension in the minds of the public of Taleigao due to the frequent flooding of low lying areas namely Camrabhat, Peterbhat and surrounding areas as such there is an urgent need of demolition and reconstruction of culverts/bridges to facilitate the easy flow of water as at the present the flow of water is restricted due to only pipes being laid under these bridges/culverts along with other utilities. The areas that needs demolition & reconstruction near Gaunkar Hospital, Expert Pharmacy, Ford Showroom, Thomas Garage and area around Dudh Badshah’s house.Immediate steps the Government will take to ease the flooding”.

I call the attention of the Hon’ble Minister to the plight of the residents living in Taleigao constituency, due to the acute shortage of water supply, especially in the areas of Sailem Bhat, Aivao, Eugene Morod , Borbhat, Oitiyant, Odxel and areas surrounding Donapaula.

Considering Taleigao\'s location at the tail end of the water distribution network, what measures does the Government intend to take to tackle this issue.

Attention of the House is drawn that  the  minds of the residents of Donapaula due to the increasing number of robberies reported.

There was yet another break-in on the 22nd of July where valuables were stolen by the thieves. This is the 3rd incident in the span of 4 months thus causing panic among the neighbourhood.

The immediate steps the government will take to resolve this issue.

070 - SETTLEMENT OF FOREST RIGHTS CLAIMS AND TRIBAL WELFARE MEASURES IN GOA.

Will the Minister for Tribal Welfare be pleased to state:

  1. the taluka wise number of Forest Rights Claims filed by tribal and forest-dwelling communities in Goa under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, as on date, with details such as the number of claims approved, number of claims rejected with reasons for rejection), and number of claims pending at each stage Gram Sabha, Sub-Divisional Level Committee, Deputy Collector, Collector ;
  2. The details of the Government’s action plan and timeline to clear the remaining pending forest rights claims, including copies of notifications, schedules of special camps, Gram Sabhas, and meetings held from 2021 till date, and the steps taken to ensure timely disposal of all claims by the announced deadline of December 19, 2025;
  3. whether lack of attendance at Gram Sabhas, incomplete documentation, or administrative bottlenecks are the reasons for delay in disposal of Forest Rights Claims since 2006; if so, the measures taken to address these challenges;
  4. The details of funds allocated, sanctioned, and actually utilized under the Tribal Sub-Plan and other welfare schemes for the recognition and settlement of forest rights claims in Goa over the last five years, along with a copy of the latest audit or utilization report; and
  5. Whether the Government has received any complaints, representations, or demands from tribal organizations or political parties regarding the delay in settlement of forest rights claims, non-utilization of welfare funds, or lack of political reservation for tribals; if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government?

The number of weights, measures and weighing instruments verified and calibrated by the Department during the last financial year;

Madam, the number of weights, measures and weighing instruments verified and calibrated by the Department during the last financial year (2024-2025) are as follows:

Weights: 13,209 nos.

Measures: 3660 nos.

Weighing Instruments: 22,929 nos.

Measuring Instruments: 16,185 nos.

(b)

The location –wise availability of Government- approved verification and stamping centres across the State; and 

Madam, there are no Government Approved Test Centres (GATCs) in the state of Goa. However, the Department carries out the verification and stamping of weights and measures through its office/sub-offices, which are equipped with working standard laboratories.

The list of the offices of this Department is enclosed at ANNEXURE I.

( c )
